** RETURN TO CIVILIZATION ** Complete game walkthrough Hello, boys and girls. Gather 'round, cause we're about to trip thru the evil jungle 'o doom, as featured in this game. If you're reading this, odds are you're stuck. Never fear! I, your fearless jungle guide, will take you every step of the way. By the time we're done, know how to solve every puzzle, collect every treasure, and die 13 different ways. And you just might get home, too! ** Complete path** Having received the Eggplant Emerald and escaped the temple, your adventure begins (continues). Go RIGHT, to the Forbidden Clearing. There's a huge X on the ground, you'll take care of that later. Hmmm, well, it seems your expedition has taken off without you. Take the ROD on the ground with the HAND icon, then go left back to the clearing. Go LEFT again, to the water spring and the artist (whose name is Monique). Ask him how he came to be in the jungle. He'll give you some ideas on how you can escape back to civilization. Go to the path on the UPPER PART of the screen, above the water. Here you'll find a very annoying little man (named Nanderly) and a rather deadly looking butterfly. Ignore them both for now and use the ROD in your inventory to get the lantern. Walk into the mine and open the generator near the bottom of the screen. Take the alternator inside by clicking HAND on the open cabinet, then use the rod in the magnets in the generator to magnetize the rod. Leave the mine, go down to the spring, and use the MAGNETIZED ROD in the water to get the metal object. Turns out the metal object you retrieve is a six-pack of beer! (You can talk to Monique if you want, as he has lots of clues on how to beat the game, but it's not essential.) Walk the LOWER PATH to the main map. Click on CROCODILE CROSSING. Take the LOWER PATH from the Man-Eating tree to the Ruins. Push the "LE CROWN" STONE (being careful not to touch the crown!) by clicking HAND on it. Next click HAND on the Question BOX to get the mushroom. Traverse back to the main map and click on the OUTPOST. Click HAND on the garbage can to get the bottle of pills. (Don't eat them!) Then hit the LOOSE BAMBOO on the side of the outpost by clicking HAND on it. The exotic merchant inside the outpost (Dinh) is distracted momentarily. Go inside the outpost quickly swipe the CAMERA on the back row by clicking HAND on it. Then, whip out your fancy new camera (by visiting the inventory screen) and take a photograph of the whistle handing on the wall. Now you can leave the outpost, for now. Go back to the main map and go to the LOST TEMPLE area. Give the photograph of the whistle to Monique, and he'll tell you to come back later. Go to the main map again, and this time hit Crocodile Crossing. Go to either the Man-Eating Tree or the Spider Cave (which is just to your right) and take a photo of the location by clicking CAMERA on OSWALD. Oswald takes a picture of either the Man-Eating Tree or the Cave, your choice. Now back to the main map. Click on the VILLAGE, and once there click HAND on any of the huts. Oswald will decide to loot the village when he gets captured by the cannabals. Get through the cutscene to the part where Oswald is sitting in the bubbling pot. Tear out the MUSHROOM and put it in the POT (that makes it ever so much better). Click TALK on one of the cannabals and another cutscene ensues. Once you revceive the mask, you can go to the main map and hit the LOST TEMPLE. Monique should have the whistle ready by now, so you can take that. Give him the mask you got from the cannabals, and you'll get a BUCKET in exchange. Take the UPPER PATH to the mine and give Nanderly (the annoying little man) the PHOTOGRAPH. Nanderly goes away, so you can swipe his butterfly net and shovel. Don't catch the butterfly yet! Go down and right, to the Forbidden Clearing. Dig the X up with your newly acquired shovel. Now, click your HAND in the hole. Pick up the manual and go left, then down to the main map. Click CROCODILE CROSSING again and go right from the Man-Eating tree. Put the BEER into the CAVE MOUTH (but, absolutly DO NOT walk inside the cave!) Now walk right, to the Crossing. Click the WHISTLE on OSWALD to blow the whistle. The crocodiles line up so you can cross. Go right again, to the sandy path. Here there's a trench of odd-looking sand. Click the pills on the sand, and the pills will thicken the quicksand. Go right again, to the beach. Get the propeller and walk back to the Spider Cave. Click the BUTTERFLY NET onto the newly made spider WEB. Now you can go back to the main map. Return to the Lost Temple and go to the Mine. Click the webbed butterfly net on the butterfly. Now, go back to the main map and hit the Outpost. (You're almost done!) Go in the outpost and use the book on Dinh. After you win the insult wine tasting, give him the butterfly net. He'll give you some wine and a compass, respectively. Now back to the main map. So far, we haven't visited the volcano, but now's the time. Go to the volcano and pick up the rose. Put the rose on the "Zak McKracken" grave and put the bucket on your head. Use the shovel on the "Stony thing with thorny thing" to dig the grave; you'll receive a parachute for doing so. Take the path to the volcano and click the parachute on the lava. You'll fly high into the air as a result. Put the propeller on the alternator to make an engine. Click the wine on the engine to win the game! ** SEVEN TREASURES ** JEWELED FLAMINGO Location: Temple Entrance Click the HAND on the gaping mouth of the idol by the door. Inside is a jeweled flamingo. GOLD COIN Location: Outside Outpost Click the HAND on the garbage can TWICE to get the coin. MEDALLION Location: Campsite Click the metal ROD on the hot coals and it pulls out a medallion. RUBY LEECH Location: Gravyard Get the rose, then click the rose on OSWALD. FARR DIAMOND Location: Quicksand Path Dig the recently-disturbed sand with the shovel to get the FARR diamond. CRYSTAL GOBLET Location: Hippie Village Click the HAND on the skull in the village to get the goblet. This only works AFTER the cannabals have turned to hippies. GOLDEN BUTTERKNIFE Location: Ruins This one's a little tricky. Get the seaweed on the beach, then tie the seaweed to the coin. Put the coin in the slot in the ruins and you can keep the coin and the knife. ** THIRTEEN WAYS TO DIE ** HOT COALS Location: Campsite Click HAND on the hot coals. GIANT COWS Location: Mine Walk into the mine (make sure you don't have the lantern!) KILLER BUTTERFLY Location: Mine Try catching the butterfly with a regular, unmodified net. BLOCKAGE PILLS Location: Anywhere Use the bottle of pills on Oswald to terminally block his colon. TRIPPY MUSHROOMS Location: Anywhere Use the mushroom on Oswald and melt his liver. FIREBALLED Location: Gravyard Try digging any one of the graves with a shovel (without the bucket on your head.) LAVAMIND Location: Volcano Click HAND on the lava to jump in. THE HUNGRY TREES Location: Man-Eating Tree Click on the large tree on the left with HAND and get eaten. SPIDER SNACK Location: Spider Cave Walk into the spider cave and die. CROCODILE CROSSING Location: Crocodile Crossing Try crossing the river without having blown the whistle first. QUICK DEATH Location: Quicksand path Try crossing the quicksand trench without dropping the pills in first. CANNABAL LUNCHEON Location: Village Click HAND on one of the huts, get through the cutscene, then TALK to either of the cannabals. DIE LIKE A KING Location: Ruins Click HAND on the crown to take it. Bizarre death ensues.
